About Saltech

Saltech is a UK-based engineering company specialising in control-room systems, mosaic mimic panels, control and indication assemblies, hazardous-area solutions and specialist industrial packages for safety-critical industrial environments.

Who we are

Our approach is systems-driven, not catalogue-driven. We work from the application and the installed base, not from a product list.

We design solutions to keep working reliably for decades, not just through initial installation.

We work alongside asset owners, EPCs, OEMs, system integrators and panel builders to provide practical engineering solutions for demanding industrial environments.

Engineering experience behind Saltech

Aditya Shah founded Saltech Consulting Ltd after more than 15 years of engineering and commercial experience across nuclear, power generation, oil & gas, industrial automation and control-room systems.

His story

Aditya's engineering background began in Mumbai through his family's engineering and EPC business, which supplied mechanical and rotary equipment to the offshore oil & gas industry. Early exposure to offshore installations developed into hands-on experience in equipment installation, turnkey projects and international supplier relationships.

After studying Mechanical Engineering and completing his BSc at Sheffield Hallam University, he returned to India to work in the family business before returning to the UK to complete an MBA at Lancaster University Management School. He subsequently built a career across UK engineering and industrial automation businesses, working with OEMs, EPCs, system integrators and industrial customers.

His career eventually focused on control-room and mosaic mimic systems, including commercial responsibility for L.B. Foster's Mosaic Graphic Panels division, covering business development, pricing, profitability and strategic bids across international markets.

Why Saltech was founded

Through his work with control-room and mosaic mimic systems, Aditya saw a growing problem across the industry. Established mosaic technologies were becoming harder to support as original products were discontinued, components became more difficult to source and specialist knowledge became increasingly concentrated among a small number of manufacturers and licensed suppliers.

For customers with existing installations, this could leave them with limited options when components became obsolete or panels needed modification, extension or replacement. In some cases, customers were tied to a particular manufacturer or licensed supplier for their installed system, making it difficult to explore alternative technologies, pricing or sources of supply. At the same time, the specialist knowledge and service capability needed to support ageing systems was becoming harder to find.

Aditya believed customers needed a different approach: an engineering-led, OEM-independent partner able to understand the existing system, work within the customer's technical requirements and budget, and identify the most appropriate solution rather than being restricted to a single product platform.

Saltech was founded to provide that support. By working with established international technology and manufacturing partners, Saltech can offer like-for-like replacement options as well as alternative metal-grid and plastic-grid solutions, with access to specialist component manufacturing, UK engineering, design, assembly, wiring, testing and project support.

This allows Saltech to work with customers to find the right balance of technical suitability, compatibility, lead time and cost — whether the requirement is a single replacement component, a modification or extension, or a complete replacement panel.
